Put my name in to leave Eastman Kodak Company when it sold its health imaging division to Carestream Health, a Canadian company. Was accepted and moved from building 59 at Lake Ave and Ridge Road, to downtown near the Kodak tower. One must be very careful what one wishes for.
Was "downsized" (laid off) from Carestream Health. Got a package from them that amounted to my usual pay until about the end of 2008.
Accepted a part-time job at Home Depot on the "freight team" and worked there until early 2010. During this time I finished many small remodeling projects on my home that were on-going.
In 2010 I purchased 20 acres back in West Michigan where I was from. Finalized that and put my Rochester home up for sale in June 2010. I Then began the process of moving back to Michigan. Meanwhile, Home Depot would not give me the time off to do the moving so I quit that job. Sold my Rochester home in one week. No, I didn't just give it away. I think I asked for a fair price and the right people came along.
